Advanced Life Support
Advanced Life Support (ALS) care is provided in life-threatening
and serious medical circumstances by an ALS Technician. Our crews’
include at least one ALS provider and one Emergency Medical
Technician (EMT), providing coverage in all aspects of pre-hospital
care, including; BLS (Basic Life Support), Intravenous, (IV),
administration of medications, cardiac care (Following current
American Heart Association guidelines), electrocardiograms, (12 lead
EKG), pacing, advanced airway management with end tidal capnography,
and controlled substances for treatment of seizures, sedation and
pain management.
Monroe Ambulance also provides Advanced Life Support with many
area volunteer ambulance and fire departments, ensuring that
patients who live in outlying areas have access to ALS services.
Monroe Ambulance also provides back-up Advanced Life Support to area
volunteer agencies, fire departments, and ambulance corps as well as
ALS Fly Car Service.
